Yesterday around 100 vegans assembled silently in Melbourne city square. We held 100 of our lost loved ones. They ranged from piglets, day old chicks and unborn puppies, to grown sheep, to stingrays and fish, and more.

It was the emotional action I have ever been apart of and I still teared up whilst uploading these photos, but this is a message that should be shared.

This is a battle that we will not stop fighting, that will not cease until every cage is empty.

“We are here today to draw attention to the fact that humans are currently responsible for the slaughter of 64 billion land animals around the world each year, and between one and three trillion sea animals. Like us, these animals have an interest in living and not suffering and we cannot ignore their interests simply because they do not belong to our species,” said ALV’s campaign co-ordinator Noah Hannibal.

i need to go vegan omg

Am I the only one that thinks this is very weird? I’m all for loving pets and against animal cruelty but keeping a dead animal and carrying it for a protest (however peaceful) is ludicrous!!

We slaughter animals especially bred for food, the food chain is a naturally occurring thing, it’s there to halo out survival, same goes for these animals!
I’m a carnivore and always will be!

Translation:

This is blatantly pointing out the cruelty and abuse inherent in my choice of behaviors and I don’t like the truth because it makes me uncomfortable, please stop making me uncomfortable by holding up a mirror to my actions.
